The Administrators and office designees of SIC had a seminar-workshop on building a culture of learning last April 30, 2009 with Dr. Teresita T. Tumapon, the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Graduate School of Liceo de Cagayan University.
The theme of the seminar-workshop was “How do we get there from here: A journey towards a learning organization.” The objectives were to:
1.Help participants with a practical set of tips and techniques to create the “learning organization” through several exercises on Senge’s five disciplines.
2.Assist participants in improving their thought processes, knowledge and skills in systems thinking as applied to the “learning organization”, individuals and team.
3.Discover how to facilitate better learning in all group situations.
The participants enjoyed the exercises on Mental Models as they saw among themselves how different their thinking paradigms were from others. The exercises were eye-openers to them on understanding other people’s point of view and become more open to see or accept different opinions.
They came up with preliminary projects in concretizing the Mission Statement of San Isidro College at the end of the workshop.
