Student Organizations

Student organizations help students carry out properly their programs and activities which would contribute to the holistic development and formation of their person. They are meant to offer a learning experience to students on how to deal with other people how to run activities, how to handle finances properly, etc. This would, in one way or another, raise the consciousness of students to act in accordance with what is correct, proper, true, good and beautiful. The following are the recognized student organizations in San Isidro College:

A. Supreme Student Council (SSC)

The Supreme Student Council is the highest student governing body in the campus. As a governing body, it is the only student organization that receives a majority vote from the students through a yearly election. The elected officers are the legitimate and official representatives of the students. The Dean of Student Affairs serves as the adviser of the Supreme Student Council. B. School Student Councils

The school student council is the governing body of the school under the supervision of the school dean. The council represents their constituents in good cause promoting general welfare. The officers are elected by majority of votes by the respective students of the school in a yearly election. These school student councils are as follows:

  1. Council of Arts and Sciences Students (CASS)
  2. Council of Education Students (CES)
  3. Council of Business Students (CBS)
  4. Council of Accountancy Students (COAS)
  5. Council of Nursing Students (CNS)
  6. Council of Midwifery Students (CMS)
  7. Council of Technology and Health-Related Program Students (CTHRPS)

C. Seniors’ Organization

The Seniors Organization is composed of graduating students who are expected to be conferred with their respective degrees on the coming graduation. This organization plans and implements activities of the graduating students such as Social Graces Seminar and Seniors’ Night.

D. Juniors’ Organization

The Juniors Organization is composed of third year students who are expected to graduate the following year. This organization sponsors activities that pay tribute to the graduating students, the seniors. It organizes the Tribute to Seniors and Parents.

E. Student Publication

E.1. The Isidran Scribes

The Isidran Scribes is the official student publication. It is a medium where students develop their journalistic and literary skills. It is subject to the norms and requirements of the Dean of Student Affairs. The paper’s funding is taken from the publication fee. The Editorial Board of the Isidran Scribes is chosen from among the students who have the aptitude in writing and are interested to join the staff after passing the qualifying examinations given at the end of the year. E.2. The Isidran

The Isidran 2009 is the official yearbook of the graduating students (College Student Handbook, Revised: 2007, p. 106). It serves as the college’s chronicler of events. The Editorial Board of the Isidran 2009 is chosen from the graduating students who applied and passed the qualifying examinations.

F. Co-Curricular Organizations

Co-curricular clubs are related to curricular disciplines. These organizations enhance academic discipline and activities like special lectures, seminars, for a, symposia, colloquia, exhibits, field trips, excursions, etc. (College Student Handbook, Revised: 2007, p. 105)
